The alternating treatments design has several variations.  This includes the single-phase which can be either with or without a no treatment control condition.  The two-phase alternating treatments design is an initial baseline phase followed by the alternating treatments phase.  Lastly the three-phase alternating treatments design is an initial baseline phase followed by the alternating treatments phase and a final best treatment phase.  Applied Behavior Analysis (2nd Edition)
